Metamorphosis Books is hosting a signing

at the Hotel Preston in Nashville, TN!

Why is this so awesome??  Because I will be signing there!! YAY!
I'm totally stoked for this event.  It is on the eve of another HUGE event in Nashville, the UTopYACon, where I will be hanging all weekend.

UTop is sold out but you can come to this signing Thursday night for FREEEEEE!!
There will be over 20 authors attending

Check out this FB link for updates - Nashville Signing

The other super cool thing that has happened is Never Let You Fall has
been "discovered".

As an Indie author it is VERY hard to get advertising out into the book world so that people
will see your work.  I was VERY VERY lucky to have received some amazing advertising over Mother's Day weekend.  Due to that advertising people were able to check out NLYF...

My sales soared over that weekend and at one time I was ranked as a Top 100 Author! ME!
Now I KNOW sales are fleeting-  they are updated hourly for goodness sake!- but I wanted to
thank everyone who has bought NLYF so far.  Thank you for the wonderful support and the reviews.  Most importantly thank you for believing in me!  I LOVE you all!!

We are currently still ranked here:

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #1,499 Paid in Kindle Store

So if you've read Never Let You Fall and loved it help me spread the word.  Write a review on Amazon, B&N and Goodreads.  Tweet about it, Facebook it.
Let's see how far we can move NLYF!

In June I will be doing a SUPER crazy book tour AND I am Author of the month on Bex 'n' Books

Good things are happening so keep an eye out!

~Release Day Blitz~ It's HERE!!!

A special Excerpt just for you...

“What do you feel?  Anything strange?”

She flung her hands up in the air as she answered me. “Yes, I feel something strange!  This whole thing is strange!”

Placing my finger on her lips, I shook my head in frustration.  “Skye, what do you feel here?” I asked again, pointing to her chest.  “How do you feel?”

She stood for a moment with her lips lightly pressed to my finger, slowly closing and reopening her eyes.  There was a sheen to them that spoke of unshed tears, and as she raised her hand to pull mine away from her mouth, I saw her fingers tremble when  she whispered, “I can’t deal with this, Xander.”

“Yes, Skye - you can and you will,” I warned her.  “This is going to happen whether you want it to or not.  I told you that I’m safe, and I…”

Skye broke into hysterical laughter at that.  “Safe?  You’re telling me that a legion of demons is after me and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.   How in your book does that equal safe?”

“You don’t know me, Skye, and you don’t know Rioden and… what we can do.  I told you that I would protect you, and I will.”

Shaking her head, she took a small step back and admitted, “You’re right about one thing, Xander,” as she wiped a tear from her face.  “I don’t know you, so how can I trust you?  No matter how you make me feel.  Please just leave me alone.”  She spun on her heel and sprinted away, leaving me to stare after her.

About the Author

Having grown up in both the cold, quiet town of Topsham, Maine and the steamy, southern hospitality of Mobile, Alabama, Michele is something of a enigma.  She is an avid Yankees fan, loves New England, being outdoors and misses snow.  However she thinks southern boys are hotter, Alabama football is the only REAL football out there and sweet tea is the best thing this side of heaven and her children’s laughter!

Her family, a doting husband and three awesome  minions  have planted their roots in the middle of Michele’s two childhood homes in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Never Let You Fall is Michele’s first novel and she is beyond thrilled to have finally followed up on a dream she has held for over 20 years!  God willing there will be many many more books to follow.

Character Profile - Skye from Never Let You Fall

Instead of my normal Tuesday Tease this week I am introducing you to my MC
for Never Let You Fall!

Business first - Congratulations Justine Winans on winning an E-ARC from last weeks
200 likes giveaway!  You have been sent an email.

. Ava- Guardians MC

The 411

Name: Skye Martin
Age: 17.5
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5'4"

Who better to tell you what they think of Skye then a few of my Beta/ARC readers:

"Skye is hardened girl. She's convinced she's unloveable and that part just kills me! But she has spunk and she's strong willed. That is something I loved about her because kick butt woman in books is a thang for me. It tickles my pickle. Her one downfall is she's untrusting as heck but Xander changes everything. "

"Skye is one tough cookie, but you can't help feel for her and want to protect her because of all she's been though. "

"Skye has been through a lot in her young life, making her a strong character, and who doesn't love a strong protagonist? At first I thought I wasn't going to like her, because she kept denying everything that was being said to her, I took a step back and realized, I'd do the exact same, that's when I fully came to love Skye. You go through this learning process with her. She goes from orphaned teenager, who drowns her sorrows and doesn't know what it's like to feel loved, and can't remember her past, to a young woman in her own, who learns to let love in and learns to love."

These readers NAIL how I wanted to portray Skye.  As I wrote scenes with her here are some images that helped me.  Some were for character inspiration or what I think she might would have thought and others are scenes you find her in and they helped me visualize things.

Here is the book synopsis again

Orphaned at 7, with no memory of her past or the family she lost, 17 year old Skye Martin is tired of being alone and afraid. After a hard night of partying, Skye wakes up alone in an unfamiliar hotel. All she can remember is the deep voice of her rescuer and his promise: “I am safe.”

Xander has been tasked with watching Skye from afar for the past two years, in order to keep her safe from the demons that hunt her. An easy job - until a pair of red glowing eyes reveal themselves to Skye, and Xander, in a moment of weakness, is forced to break his cover to protect her.

Never good at trusting people, Skye is inexplicably drawn to Xander and the immediate bond she feels for him. However, Xander is filled with secrets and ties to her past that threaten to thrust Skye into a world she could never imagine existed…

As she begins to unravel the truth about who Xander is and the details surrounding her family, she discovers that she might just be the key to saving everything...

And, most importantly, she finds that there has always been someone by her side who would never let her fall…

all I wanted was to know I'm safe

Prologue

“Skye?”
A distinctly male voice called out to me.
“Skye? Can you hear me?”
As the voice kept barking questions, something warm touched my cheek. My head lolled back as I tried to pry my eyes open to see who was yelling at me. They wouldn’t cooperate, and my head spun dizzily.
“What the hell are you trying to do to yourself, Skye?” The voice asked, as I felt myself being lifted into a strong pair of arms. I rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes as he carried me away.

“Skye?” the voice whispered in my ear. I could hear a touch of fear in his voice. It was deep and strong and laced with panic.
Groaning, I rolled over slowly. “Stop shaking me,” I heard my voice reply. I was so groggy that I couldn’t tell what was up or down, and my stomach and head felt as if I had been on a boat for weeks, they were so topsy turvy.
I felt something hot touch my ice cold head again, as a worried sound was emitted from my male companion. I actually felt myself push into the warmth, trying to seek out more.
“Skye? What did you do tonight?” his familiar voice asked. Why was it familiar? I couldn’t make out who he was. I tried again to open my eyes, but found myself starting to retch.
“Damn,” he spat out; the panic in his voice gone now as he rolled me over. I emptied my stomach of the mostly liquid diet and I was spent. The smell was so revolting, and I wanted to remove my clothes, but I couldn’t get my arms to cooperate with my brain. Or perhaps it was that my brain wasn’t functioning properly? I choked out a sob and asked my rescuer to help me, but there was no answer.
“Hello?” I called out weakly, as I lifted my head and tried to take in my surroundings through my tear-blurred and alcohol-induced hazy vision.
“C’mon,” he replied, startling me from behind. “Let’s get you cleaned up so you can sleep this off.”
I could feel him as he sat me up and struggled to pull my vomit-stained shirt off. I tried to help him, but all I succeeded in doing was rolling from one side to the other. After a few moments, his strong arms picked me up again and carried me into a bathroom. He easily placed me into the shower, holding me up under my arms, while he stood behind me. I felt the hot water begin to stream down my front.

Xander
I was sickened by her behavior, again, as I stood in the shower and held her in my arms. Her head hung low, as the water hit her hair and streamed down in a waterfall; rinsing vomit from the long, dark brown strands. She was so wasted, that her entire weight rested on my arms. If I were to let go of her, she would collapse like a rag doll.
I gritted my teeth as I thought about what she was doing to herself time after time, going to parties and drowning her sorrows. She was running from something that she would never be able to outrun - not on her own anyway, she just didn’t know that yet. I had been watching her from afar for so long, but that night I couldn’t help myself. I couldn’t watch her kill herself anymore.
My arms were wrapped around her waist, and my fingers skimmed the soft skin of her ribs below her breasts. It was torture! Removing her shirt had been necessary, since it had been covered in vomit and liquor. Standing behind her, I tried to keep my hands from roaming over her bare skin too much. Her low rise jeans were slipping down from the weight of the water, revealing more and more of the small of her trim back.
I needed to get away from her - and quickly - because the longer I stood with her in my arms, the harder it was for me to remain aloof.
As her Guardian, I was not supposed to make contact with her. I was to watch her from afar and keep her safe until it was time for her to learn about us. As I thought about the consequences I would probably face because of this night, I felt her shoulders start to shake. She was crying quietly and I leaned in, trying to hear what she was mumbling.
“Are you safe?” she whispered brokenly over and over. I remained quiet for a few minutes, waiting for her to say more, but she just kept repeating herself.
Finally, she managed to voluntarily move her arms and pushed her hair back from her face. Still unsteady on her feet, she looked over her shoulder and raised big brown eyes to my face. They were dilated still, but seemed a little clearer. She stared into my eyes as she spoke once more, “Are you safe?”
I couldn’t pretend that I didn’t know what she was asking, as I looked into those eyes and saw the tears stream down her pale face. Her voice was shaky, and the small hand that held the hair back from her face was trembling.
Although I could tell she was standing a bit straighter, I was still supporting most of her weight. Sighing, I resigned myself to the trouble I was about to get myself into.
“Yes, Skye.” I leaned down, holding her eyes with my own. “I promise you, I am safe.”
She gasped as she heard my answer, and to my astonishment, immediately broke into loud sobs as she crumpled into my chest. I sank down to the tile floor and held her close to my chest as she cried.
The steaming hot water of the shower pulsed down on us and washed her tears down the drain, along with the last of my resolve to stay away from her.

Never Let You Fall Tuesday Tease- Picked by YOU!

This weeks Tuesday Tease was picked by YOU, my fans and followers on Facebook
and Twitter!

Here is what I did:

I've decided to have a little fun with posting my Tuesday Tease this week. I'm getting YOUR help! Pick a number between 5-230 and then another between 1-10. I will post the choices with who picked them tomorrow here and on the blog! GO!!

AND here is what you chose:

*Some of you get little blurbs because you picked some very important or telling scenes and I just couldn't give it all away now could I???

Picked by @LizCLong - Conversation between Skye and Xander

“What’s up?” Skye inquired as she removed an apple from her bag and took a loud bite.

I watched as a dribble of juice rolled down her chin. She raised her long sleeve and wiped it up, joking, “I guess these huge things come in handy after all!”

      “Yes, built in napkins."

Picked by Rachel Walter on FB - this is Skye

I rested in the water and allowed the jasmine-scented oil that Emeline had added to calm my nerves.  Something continued to elude me as I lay there, and I tried to remember what I had dreamt about while I was passed out.

When the water finally turned cool, Emeline pulled me out and helped me dress in a simple blue dress.  She offered to help me into the other room, but I only wanted to sleep.  Sitting beside me on the bed, she brushed and played with my hair.  The soothing feeling of being pampered allowed me to close my eyes.

Picked by Tamara Beard on FB - Skye POV

Oh thank the lord!  I exhaled the breath I’d been holding and wrapped my arms around Xander’s waist; squeezing him tight.  He patted my hand for a moment and then pulled out of my arms and told me to stay quiet.

After a tense moment, glowing torchlight filled the area and illuminated the hole.  Selene, with another light orb, showed up with a man at her side.

Picked by Dana Dienno - Skye POV

Rioden stayed standing by the door, while Xander pulled the hotel chair up to the side of the bed.  He plopped himself down on it with ease, stretching his long legs before him.
“We have a problem that I think we need to discuss with Skye,” Xander explained to Rioden.
I wondered what he was talking about.  What problem?  Was that his secret?  I noted the way Rioden stiffened as Xander continued; his large hands curled into fists so tight his knuckles turned white.
“Last night I was at the same party as Skye and we had some crashers show up.”
He had emphasized the ‘crashers’ part and then raised his eyebrows, and I noticed that Rioden became even more alert at the mention.  Most people would probably never have even noticed their subtle tells, but as someone who had spent years of her life living with cheats and liars, I was quite adept at reading body language.

Picked by Quintana Hart on FB - Xander POV

I had been knocked out, and didn’t wake up for two days.  The first thing I’d done when I awoke was to ask about Skye. I’d had nearly gone crazy with grief when Rioden said that he hadn’t found her.

Debbie Jensen on FB - Skye POV

“Are we about ready to go?”

“Yes.  We’ve packed some food, and I put together some travel packs for us.  I’m ready when you two are.”

Xander looked at me for an okay and I couldn’t help but hesitate.  Clearing my throat, I looked around the cabin and glanced out the windows and across the forest.  My mind made up, I stepped towards the front door and called over my shoulder.

“I need a moment.”

Xander called after me, his voice full of questions and concern, but I rushed out of the cabin.

The gravel crunched under my feet as I stepped around the side of the cabin and took in the landscape before me.  Trying to get some distance from the cabin, I started to slide down the hillside in front of me.  The trees in this area had lost most of their fall foliage already.  The ground was covered with red, orange and yellow leaves.

Deanna Welshons on FB - Skye POV

I had worked my hand back inside Xander’s shirt again, and I could feel his heart rate speed up.  Anger?

Jennifer Gattuso on FB - Skye POV and Xander

He’d kicked off his shoes but was still otherwise fully dressed and on top of the covers.  I watched as he blew out the candle.  Without speaking, he situated himself on the bed; causing it to shake.  I wanted to shift closer to him but couldn’t find the energy to move.  Just as my eyes were drifting closed again, I felt his hand slide over my body.  He found my hand and covered it with his own.
The strength of his silent touch ushered me into a deep, dreamless sleep.

After this week I only have TWO Tuesday's left until release!! Eeeepppp!
So I am planning to do character profiles the following two weeks.  Come back and check out
inspirations pictures, profiles and playlists for Skye and Xander.
